My professional project being articulated between software development and computer science teaching, it was logical to orient this professional thesis through a theme between these two axis : e-learning. In this large subject, we will work out the following observation: e-learning gets an increasing part in our learning systems in nearly all domains, even if in ways that can completely differ from one to another. In this thesis, we will concentrate on the relevance of these tools and their use in the particular context of the training of students or workers in computer science occupations.\newline{}

Firstly, we will define e-learning as a global notion and introduce the different tools and methods rallied under this name. With these in mind, we will then examine the evolution of e-learning through the years until today. Finally, we will study the feedbacks and the state of e-learning today, with actors, solutions, market shares, and impact of e-learning in different countries.
